Eastern New Mexico vs. University of New Mexico
UNM head coach Don Flanagan
Thoughts on the game:
"We got a lot of offense rebounds. We shot well the second half...57 percent. We didn't defend particularly well, and we fouled way too much. The Zias are a very hard working, scrappy team that really played very hard and gave us some problems. I was a little disappointed that defensively we couldn't stop them."
"With us there are a couple of weaknesses. We didn't reverse the ball well enough. We were impatient. We didn't shoot particularly well when we had open shots, but offensively we scored 98 points so we didn't do that bad. Defensively, though, we need work."
"I thought the last ten minutes were pretty good. We'll think about the last ten minutes and work on some things, but it gave me an idea of what we need to work on."
"One (ENMU) player had four three's and that's disappointing that we didn't defend her a little bit better. We've been pretty good at defending the three."
"It is a kind of exhibition game you would like to have because you're playing a team that's prepared, a team that's conditioned, and a team that's running things. That definitely helped us."
