ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- New Mexico women's soccer is set to host the UNM Classic this Friday and Sunday at the UNM Soccer Complex. The four-team event features two games each day starting at 4:00 p.m. MT Friday. The Lobos face St. Mary's Friday at 7:00 p.m. MT and Nevada Sunday at 3:00 p.m. MT.

UNM enters the classic with a 5-4-0 overall mark, after splitting a pair of games last week in the Pacific-10/Mountain West Conference Challenge. The Lobos defeated Washington State, 1-0, Thursday but fell to Washington, 1-0, Friday. This weekend, will be the final non-conference matches of the year. The Lobos open MWC play on Oct. 6 at Wyoming.

Offensively, UNM has been led by senior Kristine Sweat. Sweat has netted four goals in nine games for the Lobos and recorded an assist. This season, UNM has eight different players that have scored at least one goal. Sophomore Asha Richardson has three goals this season and has made the most of her time. Richardson is averaging a goal every 84 minutes.

The Lobos have won two of their last three matches and only allowed one goal during the span. Sophomore Shannon Adragna has played in all nine matches and ranks second in the conference with a 0.77 goals against average. She has collected 15 saves this year and recorded two shutouts.

The first match of the tournament will feature Northern Arizona against Nevada at 4:00 p.m. MT. NAU enters with a 4-5-0 mark and recently got shutout by No. 5 Portland, 4-0. Nevada is 6-2-1 this season and has a two-game winning streak heading into Friday. The Wolf Pack is led by Karen Zmirak, who has five goals and 11 points.

St. Mary's is coming off a, 2-1, overtime loss to San Jose State. The Gaels are 1-6-2 this year, with their only win against Long Island to open the season. Friday marks just the second time in school history that the Lobos have faced St. Mary's. The teams battled in 2003 but ended in a 1-1 draw.
