ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's basketball team will play host to the AmeriSuites Midtown Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Joining the Lobos in the four team tournament is Siena College, Western Illinois University and Georgia Southern University. Tip-off each day is at 6:00 PM with the second game starting 25 minutes following the first game. Friday's action will see Siena take on Western Illinois at 6:00 PM and UNM will play Georgia Southern in game two.

TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico against the Eagles of Georgia Southern University in a non-conference match-up in the first round of the AmeriSuites Midtown Thanksgiving Tournament. The tournament sponsors are AmeriSuites Hotel and 1310 AM The Ticket.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: New Mexico is 2-2 this season with victories over Florida Atlantic (74-44) and No. 25 Texas (63-60) and losses to No. 12/13 Arizona State (67-49) and Nebraska (66-59). UNM is led in scoring by senior Julie Briody at 14.5 ppg and in rebounding by junior Dionne Marsh at 7.0 rpg. Leading the Lobos in assists is freshman Amy Beggin at 4.3 apg.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES: Georgia Southern is currently 1-4 with a win over Stetson (62-46) and losses at Jacksonville State (84-77), to Troy (77-62), at South Florida (94-65) and No. 8/8 Georgia (75-71). GSU is led in scoring by Tiffany Brown at 15.2 ppg and rebounding by Christa Waterman at 5.4 rpg. Leading them in assists is Carolyn Whitney with 3.6 apg.

THE COACHES: UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who enters his 12th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 241-106 at UNM. The Eagles are led by Rusty Cram who is in his 11th season at Georgia Southern with a record of 155-137 at GSU.
