ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's basketball team will open the Southwest Airlines Lobo Shootout against the Tennessee State Lady Tigers. UNM enters the Shootout with a 4-1 record, while TSU comes in at 0-3. Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 8:05 PM. In the first game of the night 4-1 South Carolina will take on 3-1 Southern Utah at 6:00 PM.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS UNM enters the Southwest Airlines Lobo Shootout with a 4-1 record. The Lobos lone loss of the season came to Villanova (70-57) in the Holiday Inn Mountain View Invitational championship game. New Mexico though has registered wins over USC (77-75), Cal State Fullerton (59-52), Youngstown State (54-36) and Texas Southern (103-41). UNM is currently led in scoring by juniors Lindsey Arndt and Mandi Moore at 12.2 and 9.0 ppg, respectively. The leading rebounder for the Lobos is Arndt with 7.6 rpg, while Moore leads New Mexico in assists at 3.8 apg.

SCOUTING THE LADY TIGERS Tennessee State comes into the Southwest Airlines Lobo Shootout with an 0-3 record after losses to Wright State (79-37), Birmingham Southern (69-46) and North Carolina Asheville (59-47). The Lady Tigers are led in scoring by Kisha Stewart with 12.7 ppg, while Odessa Kelly leads TSU on the boards with 7.3 rpg.

THE COACHES UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan in his ninth season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 172-82 at UNM. The Lady Tigers are led by Sharon Allen. Allen is in her first season at Tennessee State and her fifth season overall with a record of 17-93. Allen is making her second appearance in the Pit this year, after spending last season as an assistant for Mississippi State.

THE SERIES This is the first ever meeting between New Mexico and Tennessee State. The Lobos are 0-3 against current members of the Ohio Valley Conference and 1-3 against schools from the state of Tennessee. UNM's three losses came against Tennessee Tech and the lone win came last year in the Southwest Airlines Lobo Shootout against Memphis.
