LAS VEGAS, Nev. --- University of New Mexico men's tennis struggled to find a win in the first day of the Rebel Classic. Only two Lobos made the trip to Las Vegas after Derek Lynch was unable to travel.

Freshman Joe Wood Battled but fell to Vicente Joli from Fresno Pacific University 7-5, 6-4.

Chris Parkes also put up a battle but failed after three sets against Tejesvi Veerepalli (4-6, 6-1, 6-4).

The two Lobos will pair up for doubles after earning a first round bye. The doubles second round starts on Saturday.
