ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's basketball team will look to extend its wining streak to six games Saturday at San Diego State. The Lobos enter the game on a five game winning streak after a victory Thursday at UNLV and is now 17-7 on the season and 9-2 in the MWC. San Diego State is also coming off a win on Thursday at home over Air Force and is 8-16 overall and 3-8 in the conference. Tip-off is set for Saturday at 6:00 PM MST at Peterson Gym.

TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico against the Aztecs of San Diego State University in a Mountain West Conference match-up.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: The Lobos enter tonight's game on a five game winning streak with wins at Wyoming and UNLV and at home against Air Force, Utah and BYU. UNM is currently 17-7 on the season and 9-2 in the MWC with losses to Colorado State, Utah, No. 3 Texas, Villanova, South Carolina, San Francisco and Arizona and wins over Southern Cal, Cal State Fullerton, Youngstown State, Texas Southern, Tennessee State, New Mexico State, New Mexico Highlands, Air Force, BYU, San Diego State and UNLV. The Lobos are led in scoring and rebounding by junior forward Lindsey Arndt with 10.1 ppg and 7.2 rpg. The Lobos are led in scoring during conference by senior Melissa Forest at 10.5 ppg.

SCOUTING THE AZTECS: San Diego State is coming off a win at home against Air Force on Thursday. The Aztecs are currently 8-16 overall and 3-8 in the Mountain West Conference. SDSU has defeated Nevada, Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine, Washington State, Texas Pan Am, Colorado State and Air Force, while losing to St. Mary's, Cal State Northridge, SMU, San Diego, Oral Roberts, UT Martin, Brown, Santa Clara, UNLV, New Mexico, Utah, BYU and Wyoming. San Diego State is led in scoring and assists by Michelle Elliott at 12.4 ppg and 2.4 apg. Joining Eliott in double figures and the leading rebounder for SDSU is Ashlee Dunlap at 11.3 ppg and 8.3 rpg.

THE COACHES: UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan in his ninth season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 185-88 at UNM. The Aztecs are under the direction of Jime Tomey, who is in his second year at San Diego State. Tomey is 17-34 at SDSU.

THE SERIES: New Mexico and San Diego State will meet for the 27th time tonight. The Lobos own a slight 14-12 advantage in the series and have won the last eight meetings.. Earlier this season the Lobos were victorious 76-42.
