New Mexico's Katie Coronado to Represent the USA in Summer Competition

UNM junior Katie Coronado will compete for team USA at the North America, Central America and Caribbean Athletic Association Under 23 Track & Field Championships on July 18-20 in Toluca, Mexico. NACAC championships are held once every two years in one of it's 32 member states. The 78-athlete roster was announced July 16.

Coronado earned one of only two spots available in the javelin. The Ruidoso, N.M. product finished sixth overall as the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene Ore. and was the third ranked collegiate on June 30. At the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Coronado stunned the field with a silver medal performance
