Albuquerque, N.M. --- University of New Mexico head men's basketball coach Steve Alford has announced that Curtis Dennis, a 6-5, 195 pound guard from the Bronx, New York, will leave the Lobo basketball program and transfer to another school.

"We understand Curtis' desire to play more and to be a little closer to home", said Alford. "We appreciate the contributions he has made to our program over the last three years, and we will help him any way we can to find an institution to continue his career."

Dennis played in all 10 games this season, starting the first three in place of injured guard Phillip McDonald. He was averaging 2.9 points and 0.6 rebounds while shooting .370 from the field. If Dennis transfers to another Division I institution, he will have to sit out two semesters per the NCAA's transfer regulations.
