New Mexico Head Coach Don Flangan
"I thought we shot pretty well. We shot well from the three, especially in the first half. We got behind early, that is our tradition this year, but then we started to play much harder. About the press, we mixed things up which allowed us to slow them down. They really run their offense quite well. So we wanted to delay the ball coming down giving us the opportunity to defend them half court and less time maybe fifteen, sixteen, seventeen seconds to defend half court. I thought that went pretty well. Rebounding was even, they're a pretty good rebounding team, we just shot better than they did. We shot the ball pretty well, we passed the ball very well. I was pretty happy with our effort and the momentum it will give us going into the tournament
On the seniors: "They are three of the nicest players I've ever coached. They are all excellent students, they've all made a commitment to the community which makes them fan favorites. They've been very successful over their careers as far as wins are concerned. They are models of no behavior problems and of all three of them I never remember saying one thing to them about a behavior problem. I'm not sure you could get three better players. They are just great role models."
BYU Head Coach Jeff Judkins
"They (BYU) still played really well, it's hard to play here. There's a lot of emotion, our girls are not used to that. New Mexico is a great team, hopefully we can meet up again and get this taste out of our mouths. Don (Flanagan) did a great job tonight, it's a good victory. It's hard to tell your team to do better sometimes knowing you've already won the (regular season) conference already. But you've to give New Mexico credit, they came out with a good win."
