DENTON, Texas - The New Mexico softball team (2-11) will return home without playing Western Michigan at the Betlin Mean Green Classic thanks to the non-stop rain that is hitting the Denton, Texas area.

The game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. yesterday but was postponed until noon today because of the weather. The Lobos have now had six games cancelled this season due to weather.

New Mexico finishes the tournament 0-3 after losing 8-6 to North Texas, 4-3 to Wichita State and 7-1 to Southwest Missouri State. An all-tournament team is supposed to be announced later in the day.

The Lobos will return to the Lone Star state next weekend to compete in Texas Tech's tournament. They will open competition with Texas A&M corpus Christi, which is receiving votes in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll, on March 4 at 11 a.m.
