COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference today announced its 2006 volleyball television schedule, which features an unprecedented 16 appearances for the league.

Nine regular season games (eight conference tilts and one non-conference match) and seven MWC Women's Volleyball Championship matches are included in the package, with the Mountain West Sports Network - the mtn., airing 15 contests and CSTV broadcasting two matches.

The Lobos' final home match of the season, Nov. 10 vs. TCU, is scheduled to air tape delayed on the mtn. New Mexico should make at least one more appearance on the mtn. this season, in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament.

The first television broadcast of 2006 will be Colorado State at No. 21 Utah, which will play on Friday, Sept. 15. The Rams-Utes contest will be shown via tape delay on CSTV, Sunday, Sept. 17, as the 2006 NCAA Volleyball on CSTV, AVCA Match of the Week.

For the seventh straight season, the MWC Tournament will be televised. Quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be shown on the mtn. (times TBA), while the championship match will be broadcast live on CSTV, Saturday, November 25 at 8 p.m. PT.

Today's television announcement reflects the new partnership between CSTV Networks and Comcast for ownership and distribution of the mtn. - Mountain West Sports Network. The mtn. is the first-ever network dedicated to a collegiate conference.
