University of New Mexico golfer Jodi Ewart tied for 54th place at the S4C Wales Ladies Championship of Europe over the weekend. The professional tournament, shortened to 54 holes after Saturday's third round was washed out, was held at the Machynys Peninsula Golf Course in Llanelli, Wales.
Ewart, who will be a junior at UNM when classes open on Aug. 25, shot a 2-over 74 in the final round. She finished the tournament at 4-over 220. That was 11 shots behind Sweden's Lotta Wahlin and Germany's Martina Eberl, who tied for the top spot at 209. Wahlin won the title in a playoff.
A native of North Yorkshire, England, Ewart shot 72-74-74 for her three rounds and was one of two amateurs to make the cut.
