ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- New Mexico softball will host New Mexico State Wednesday in a doubleheader at Lobo Field. The Lobos battle the Aggies in the final non-conference games of the year starting at 12 p.m. UNM has a 14-16 overall record with a 4-3 Mountain West Conference mark. NMSU brings a 24-24 record into the games and is 6-9 in the Western Athletic Conference.
New Mexico is coming of a 2-2 week that featured a doubleheader sweep of Utah last Thursday and two loses at BYU. The Lobos have managed to win seven of their last 10 games and are third in the MWC league standings.
NMSU has lost 11 of its last 13 games dating back to the UNM sweep on March 28. The Aggies recently took two of three from Nevada and hope to finish strong in their final seven regular-season games.
Wednesday marks the second time this season that UNM and NMSU have met on the diamond. The Lobos swept a doubleheader in Las Cruces, N.M., earlier in the year and have won the last four meetings. UNM leads the all-time series with the Aggies, 82-46.
The games will broadcast on the radio within the Albuquerque area on 1150 AM. Fans can catch the action live online via all access video with Mike Roberts calling the action and gametracker through www.GoLobos.com.
