New Mexico Head Coach Don Flanagan
We started out really fast, and I thought we had decent defense. Their leading scorer is a freshman and we pretty much chased her all over the place. I thought Jess [Kielpinski] did a pretty good job with their inside player [Hoisington] who averaged 13 coming into the game. So we held both their leading scorers to six points. We got a lot of different people in that wouldn't normally play together. And I thought shooting 45 percent for the game is not bad because we had so many different, non-traditional lineups in there. We were trying to hold them under ten offensive rebounds and we missed by one. I thought it was pretty good effort.

On New Mexico's defense:
I think we take [our defensive responsibilities] a little personally. The player that (Amanda) Best was guarding was averaging 20 points a game, so Best wants to do a good job (on defense) and we all want to do a good job helping her out and holding that player under her average. She only got six points tonight. That's something we take a lot of pride in.

On playing the Holiday Inn & Suites Express Midtown Thanksgiving Tournament this weekend:
We're just excited to get out there and play. Coach mentioned the teams a little bit and we haven't had much experience with them before, but we'll get to that [scouting] tomorrow. We're just excited to play. I know a lot of people have family coming into town, so hopefully we can win the tournament for them.
