LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The University of New Mexico softball team falls 10-0 in five innings to New Mexico State, Tuesday evening at the NMSU Softball Complex. The Aggies scored two runs off of four hits in the top of the first inning and three runs on four hits in the top of the third to go ahead 5-0. New Mexico State scored five more runs in the fourth to end the game 10-0 in five innings.
Cristin Anderson, Danielle Castro, and Jessica Lujan-Dresslar each had a hit for the Lobos. Sophomore Shenise Cox was back in action today for New Mexico at first base, after being injured for much of the season and only being allowed to pinch run.
Tiare Jennings led New Mexico State at the plate going 3-for-3 with two runs, an RBI, and a home run. Ashley Moroda went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, a home run, and two runs. Torrey Schroeder earned the shutout in the circle for the Aggies and is now 7-5 on the season. With the win New Mexico State improves to 18-16.
