UNM divers Tracey Berghian and Becca Barras travel to Oklahoma City, Okla. this week for the 2004 NCAA Diving Zones competition, March 11-13. The Zone E events are set to take place at the Aquatics Center at Oklahoma City Community College.

Both divers look to improve on their 2003 Zone finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events this week. Last year, Berghian finished in 15th place (419.45) on the 3-meter and 24th on the 1-meter (208.40). Barras captured a ninth-place finish on the 3-meter (441.55) and a 21st-place finish on the 1-meter (211.90). Both divers finished ahead of all other MWC divers who qualified and competed at the meet.

The Lobo divers have great potential to do well at the Diving Zones as Berghian is the MWC champion in the 3-meter and Barras MWC champion in the 1-meter. Berghian is also MWC Diver of the Year while Barras has two MWC Diver of the Week awards to her name after outstanding performances during the regular season.

UNM's Diving Zone results will be available on the women's swimming and diving page at www.golobos.com.
