LAS VEGAS, NEV.--The Lobos had one day of rest in between two road matches, San Diego State and UNLV. It seemed that one day was good enough for UNM as they came out with guns blazing against Conference team UNLV winning the match with a score of 6-1.
At number one doubles, Jadon Phillips and Phil Anderson ranked 37th in the country, took on Kenyon/Schoeman. The match was close but Phil Anderson and Jadon Phillips had the upper hand winning the match with a score of 8-5.
The Lobos kept their momentum going for them as they led into singles.
At number one singles, Jadon Phillips had a difficult match against Rene Ruegamer going to a total of three sets. Jadon Phillips won the first set 7-5 but could not clinch the win falling in a tiebreak in the second set. The third set was close but not close enough for the Lobo as he fell with a final score of 5-7, 7-6, 1-0 (10-4).
At number two singles, Ben Dunbar gave up only three games as he defeated Brian Kenyon with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
Phil Anderson defeated Tama Batyi at the number three spot with a score of 7-6, 3-2 ret.
At the number four position, Conor Berg defeated his opponent Johannes Markel with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
At the number five spot, Samir Iftikhar also only gave up three games as he won against Charlie Alvarado with a score of 6-2, 6-1.
The Lobos will play against Hawai'i in Las Vegas, Nev. on April 9, 2012 at 10 a.m. MT.
