ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico men's golf team travels to Sunriver, Oregon for the second time this season for the NCAA West Regional. The NCAA West Regional will be played on Thursday, May 20 - Saturday, May 22. The Lobos earned a berth in the NCAA West Regional by winning the MWC Championships on the same Crosswater Course in Sunriver, Ore., just three weeks ago. Coach Glen Millican will take juniors Madalitso Muthiya and Jay Reynolds, sophomores Jay Choi and Spencer Levin and freshman Charlie Beljan with him to Sunriver. The tournament will be 54-holes, 18-holes played each day, with tee times beginning each morning at 8:15 AM (PST). The top-10 teams in the NCAA West Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships in Hot Springs, Va.
THE COURSE: The NCAA West Regional will be played at the 7,270 yard, par-72 Crosswater Course at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon.

A LOOK AT THE NCAA WEST REGIONAL: New Mexico will enter the NCAA West Regional as the ninth seed and 20th ranked team in the country. Other teams joining the Lobos are #5 UCLA, #4 Arizona State, #7 Arizona, #11 USC, #21 BYU, #19 Cal-Berkley, #15 UNLV, #24 Washington, Pepperdine, Colorado State, Toledo, UTEP, Central Florida, San Diego State, Stanford, North Carolina-Wilmington, Furman, Denver, New Mexico State, Cal-Riverside, Cal-Irvine, Coastal Carolina, Long Beach State, Louisiana-Monroe, Loyola of Maryland and Wright State. UNM is 43-26 against the teams in the NCAA West Regional and have not been in a tournament with six of the teams. The top 10 teams from the NCAA West Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships on Tuesday June 1- Friday June 4 in Hot Springs, Va.
UNM AT THE NCAA'S: This will be New Mexico's 20th consecutive appearance in the NCAA's. The last time the Lobos did not earn a berth in either a NCAA Regional or Championship was 1984. UNM will be looking to qualify for their third straight NCAA Championship appearance and 28th appearance overall.
NEW MEXICO IN THE POLLS: The Lobos are ranked 20th in the latest Golf Week/Sagarin Performance Index Poll (May 9). Florida maintains the top spot and is followed by Clemson. The top teams in the NCAA West Regional are Arizona State and UCLA who are ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. New Mexico also has two individuals in the top 100 of the rankings with Spencer Levin at 15 and Jay Choi at 82. The top ranked individuals at the NCAA West Regional is Ryan Moore of UNLV ranked second and Chris Nallen of Arizona ranked fourth.
