Senior Defensive End Daniel Kelger
Question: You individually seem to be around the ball more, making plays. What's the reason for that?
Daniel Kegler: "Coach (Osia) Lewis and coach (Rocky) Long have gained more confidence in me and are letting me get out on the field which has given me more pride to be on the team. I just thank them for every opportunity they give me to get out there and play."
Q: There is nothing quite like forcing a turnover on defense, is there?
DK: No. When you force a turnover that lets everyone know we are going out there and working hard.
Q: Is there a particular reason you were able to cause all of those turnovers in the second half against the (NMSU) Aggies?
DK: Coach Long gave us a good talking to at halftime and let us know what we needed to do as a team. We needed to focus more as a team and stop worrying about personal foul calls. We needed to focus more and that's what we did.
Q: Utah State has a potent offense. How much of it do you remember from last year?
DK: It has been in the back of our minds up until this point. We know that they can play, but we let them slip through our hands last year. They are a good team and we are looking forward to playing against them just like we were against New Mexico State. We know what we have to do to win. We just need to get out there and play the game."
Q: Coach says that their offense is very complicated. They are doing a lot of shifting and stuff like that. What do you remember about them and what are you concerned about?
DK: "I feel like our defense is a very aggressive defense, and it does not make any difference who goes where or who does what. We are going to go out there and play hard and go after the ball. As long we go out there with that attitude and effort, then whatever they bring out, we are going to try to stop."
