The University of New Mexico athletics department, the American Red Cross and NEXTEL have teamed up to assist military families through the donation of your old cell phones. Lobo fans can bring their old cell phones to the women's basketball game on February 21st and receive admission for only three dollars.

One organization that provides support to military families, in peace and wartime, is the American Red Cross. The Red Cross and NEXTEL Communications, have teamed up to raise funds for the Red Cross' Armed Forces Emergency Services program.

Bring your old wireless phone to the Lobo Women's Basketball game on February 21st (Hero's Day at Lobo Basketball) you'll receive admission for only three dollars, that's more than half off the normal ticket price. So Nextel and the Red Cross encourage you to dig out that old wireless phone and put it to work for a great cause.

If you can't make it to the game on February 21st, you can also donate your no longer used wireless phones at the following locations * Accessories Unlimited, at 2404 Candelaria NE * Contact Wireless, at 5801 Menaul Boulevard NE.

However, to get the reduced ticket price, you have to bring your old wireless phone to the game on February 21st.

The recycling proceeds will be donated directly to the Red Cross program for military families.

The Lobos salute the 600,000 service men and women deployed worldwide and their families, and we ask you to help the American Red Cross and Nextel in raising funds to continue supporting our military families.
