ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- New Mexico softball head coach Ty Singleton announced his 2009 summer camps today. The Lobos will host the All Skills and Elite camps at Lobo Field this summer and a summer camp in Kelso, Washington. The camps are designed to improve overall fundamentals through drills and professional coaching. The UNM staff will run the camps and will be assisted by numerous coaching professionals from around the nation.
The Lobo All Skills camp will run from June 8-10 at Lobo Field. The camp will run from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. everyday with each session costing $50. Offense will be taught on June 8th, Defense on June 9th and Pitching and Catching on June 10th. Registration is set for 7 a.m. on June 8 but pre-registration is encouraged. The All Skills camp is for ages 8-18.
The Lobo Elite Camp is for campers ranging in ages from 14-21 and will be held at Lobo Field from July 7-9. The camp is designed to showcase talent and develop overall skills to a very competitive level. Intense individual coaching and drills will be taught as well as the fundaments. Rates vary based upon overnight or commuter status.
The Washington Camp marks the first time in Lobo Softball history that UNM has held a camp out of state. The camp runs July 13-15 for ages 14-21 and will be held at the Tam O'Shantee Park in Kelso, Washington. Rates vary based upon overnight or commuter status.
