A pair of Lobo skiers earned Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Skier of the Week awards this week. Senior Alpine skier Jennifer Delich and junior Nordic team member Martina Stursova both too home the honors for the Lobos.

Stursova won both the women's 5K Classic and 5K Freestyle races at last weekend's New Mexico Invitational in Red River, N.M. Stursova is the top women's Nordic Skier in the RMISA so far this season. A 2003 All-American, Stursova has recorded three wins in six collegiate races this season. Stusova also helped the Lobo women win both the Classic and Freestyle races this weekend.

Senior Jennifer Delich earned this week's women's Alpine RMISA Skier of the Week award.

Delich is the Lobos' senior captain and a 2002 All-American. She won the first collegiate race of her career last weekend by taking home the New Mexico Invitaional slalom title in Taos, N.M. She also finished second in the women's giant slalom. Delich guided the Lobo women's Alpine team wins in both the Slalom and Giant Slalom races at the New Mexico Invite.

The Lobos won their second consecutive meet last weekend, behind the strong performances of both Stursova and Delich. New Mexico is 4.5 points behind conference leading Denver and is poised to make a run at it's first ever NCAA Championshps. The Lobos will head to the University of Colorado Invitational on February 20-21, 2004, for their next RMISA race in Boulder and Lake Eldora, Colo.
