COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Senior goalkeeper Shannon Adragna has been awarded the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor. The Albuquerque, N.M. native, led New Mexico defensively to a 2-0 record this past weekend at the 4th Annual High Altitude Tournament. Adragna had five saves and faced eight shots in a 3-1 win over Utah Valley University on Sept. 26. Against Central Arkansas, Adragna had four saves on four shots and picked up her fifth shutout of the season and her fifth win in a 7-0 victory over the Bears.

This is the second time in Adragna's career that she has been awarded the honor. On Oct. 23, 2006 the Sandia High product picked up her first MWC Player of the Week award.

Adragna is the second Lobo to win the award this season. True freshman Nicole Reed was awarded the honor on Sept. 8.
