ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- New Mexico softball will travel to Lawrence, Kan., this weekend to compete in the Jayhawk Classic hosted by the University of Kansas from March 9-11. The Lobos are 2-7 heading into Friday's game with Drake and have already played a difficult slate this season. UNM has faced four nationally-ranked opponents this spring and will play five games this weekend against tough foes.

UNM will play a doubleheader Friday against Drake at 9:30 a.m. and North Dakota State at 11:45 a.m. It will be the second time in school history that the Lobos have faced the Bulldogs and the first meeting with the Bison. Saturday, UNM opens with KU at 11:45 a.m. before entering bracket play during the afternoon and all day Sunday. KU and the Lobos have played 20 games with the Jayhawks leading the series, 16-4.
