ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The 2011 Mountain West Conference Champion Lobo Baseball team will be hosting several camps over the next two months, beginning with the Lobo Baseball Full Day Camp on June. 13-15. This camp offers a unique opportunity for players ages 6-18 to spend three days at Lobo Baseball Field with the University of New Mexico Lobo's Baseball team from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. each day. The cost of the camp is $200.

The purpose of each Lobo Baseball Camp is to provide superior instruction for youth players from ages 6-18 and to expose them to the fundamentals of the game. Every camp is taught by UNM's experienced coaching staff. The camps also offer older players an opportunity to play in front of collegiate coaches, while providing a better understanding of what is expected of them if they want to play baseball at the next level.

Half Day Camp and Hitter's Camp will both take place on June 20-22. The Half day camp will run from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. each day and has a total cost of $125. The Hitter's Camp will run from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. each of the three days and has a total cost of $150.

Infield Camp I will take place on June 27-29 and will carry a total cost of $125. The specific focus of the camp will be on the development of each player's defensive abilities. Players will be broken down individually and coached through drill work. Each camper will have the opportunity to receive instruction from the UNM coaching staff as well. The camp will run from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. each day.

Infield Camp II is the first camp in the month of July the Lobos will offer. It will take place July 11-13 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. each day and will cost $125. The details of the camp are exactly the same as the first infield camp.

The Lobo Baseball Elite Prospect Camp is the last camp the Lobo baseball squad offers during the summer. It will take place from July 18-20. This camp has been developed as a highly instructional baseball experience geared towards each player's individual exposure. The prospect camp will evaluate players' abilities, teach detailed skills and enlighten players on the collegiate style of play. The camp allows players to improve their game and put their skills on display for highly qualified collegiate coaches. The camp has a cost of $300 and will run from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. each of the three days.

All camps take place at Lobo Field, the University of New Mexico baseball team's practice facility, located on the west side of University Blvd. SE, just south of The Pit. For more information regarding the Lobo baseball camps contact Andrea Benac at (505) 249-6925 and akbenac@unm.edu or click here.
