New Mexico Head Coach Don Flanagan
I thought we shot well obviously, the second half in particular. In the first half we could have shot a little better. They were fresh at that point and played a little better defense. In the second half we got the transition going. We made some transition baskets and we had an opportunity to play a lot of people. They shot 26 or 27 percent for the game so obviously I thought we defended well. Dionne had a nice game and everyone scored so it was a positive night for us.
We had a chance to rest some people. That was the first time that Amy has been out all season long. That's good for her because she is wearing down a little bit. I've used her 45 minutes the last game and this slows it up a little bit. It's all about having confidence and relaxing. You can see that when we relaxed we had a cushion we had a lead. Everybody seemed to shoot better and play better make better passes. It's a lot easier to play when you had a 30 point lead.
Air Force Head Coach Ardie McInelly
"I'm at a little bit of a loss of words with our teams' performance right now. You know from a coach's perspective you always like for your defense to dictate your offense, but if you don't play well offensively you don't play well defensively. We needed to do a little better job. I just wish you could have played better."
About the Pit
"I love it. I think its a great experience for these young women to come here and play in front of that many people. We had nine thousand people here today and it might be the most people some of them ever get to play in front of. It's a tribute to how coach Flanagan and his assistants have built this program."
