ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--- The New Mexico Lobos captured two more wins Saturday at the Linda Estes Tennis Complex to remain undefeated on the young season at 5-0. New Mexico posted its first win of the day Saturday morning shutting out the Colorado State-Pueblo Thunderwolves 7-0. The Lobos repeated the win later that evening also blanking the Western New Mexico Mustangs 7-0.

The Lobos opened Saturday morning play in dominant fashion with UNM singles sweeping six of six matches. Phil Anderson topped New Mexico's lineup and defeated CSU-Pueblo's Bruno Hurtado 6-1, 6-2.

The Hegelund brothers came out strong in their first matches of the season Saturday. In the No. 3 spot Mads Hegelund claimed his first win from the Thunderwolves' Saul Shrom 6-3, 6-2. Following his brother at No. 6, Simon Hegelund sailed through his match taking the win from Tom Chavez 6-1, 6-0.

The Lobo doubles teams took all three of their matches from CSU-Pueblo finalizing the win at 7-0. Later Saturday, doubles returned once again to sweep their matches against Western New Mexico. The No. 1 New Mexico duo of Conor Berg and Ben Dunbar tallied the first win 8-2, extending their total of straight dual match wins to 14.

In singles, the Lobos won all six matches in straight sets raising UNM's record to 5-0 on the season.

Ben Dunbar tallied the first win of the night for singles, trumping WNMU's Johan Weich 6-1, 6-1. Joe Wood followed in Dunbar's footsteps sailing past Jean Benoit Belin 6-0, 6-2.

Phil Anderson clinches the match for the Lobos, claiming a solid win from Yair Banuelos 6-1, 6-2.

Carl Ho closed the night for New Mexico, defeating Mustang Henning Thrien 7-5, 6-2.

Sophomore Conor Berg continued his winning streak, advancing his career high to 16 straight wins.

Up Next: The Lobos will travel to Tucson, Ariz. to take on the University of Arizona and the University of San Diego. Their first match will begin Friday, at 1:00 p.m. against Arizona.
