New Mexico still leads the all-time series with New Mexico State 66-30-5

New Mexico has lost two straight in the series for the first time since 1998-99. It marks the second straight time that a New Mexico head coach has lost the Aggie in his first two meetings, with Michael Locksley joining Rocky Long.

The Lobos have now lost 13 consecutive road games dating back to a 35-24 victory against NMSU in Las Cruces on Sept. 27, 2008

UNM had its first halftime lead this year.

UNM led for 44:50 of the contest

UNM currently leads the Rio Grande Rivalry (7.5-3.0), and the total rivalry is worth 28.5.

The Lobos have started 33 different student-athletes this season... 17 on offense and 16 on defense...senior DE Seth Johannemann became the 12th Lobo to start his first career game this season.

For the third time in six games, the Lobos leading rusher was their quarterback, with Tarean Austin leading against Oregon and Utah. Brad Gruner tied for the team lead with James Wright

UNM has utilized seven true freshmen this season including two quarterbacks...QB Stump Godfrey made his first career appearance Saturday vs. NMSU.

The 16 points was the fewest allowed on the road since Oct. 13, 2007 when UNM beat Wyoming 20-3 in Laramie, a span of 19 games.

Saturday was the "Are You Tough Enough to Wear Pink" game for NMSU.


Senior DE Seth Johannemann -
- Made his first career start Saturday against New Mexico State.

Junior QB Brad Gruner -
- Had his first passing touchdown of the season and first since Oct. 18, 2008 vs. San Diego State...connected with senior WR Bryant Williams for a 42-yard touchdown.
- Is 3-7 all-time as starting quarterback.
- Tied for the team lead in rushing with 49 yards.

Junior S Bubba Forrest
- Had his first career interception at the end of the first quarter...the turnover led to a Lobo touchdown.

Sophomore RB Kasey Carrier
- Recorded his first career touchdown on a 6-yard run to open the second quarter.

Senior WR Bryant Williams
- Had a career-high 97 yards receiving...caught his team-leading third touchdown of the year.

True Freshman QB Stump Godfrey
- Made his first collegiate appearance tonight.

Junior LB Carmen Messina
- Had a season-high 12 tackles...it was second straight game with double-digit tackles.
