Lobo Women's Soccer Leads The Way In Academics

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference has announced the 2005 Fall semester All-Academic team and Lobo women's soccer proved it not only excelled on the field in 2005, but also in the classroom as 12 players received the academic honor to lead the university with the most student-athletes out of the 35 from New Mexico that were selected.

To be eligible for selection student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.

Following the women's soccer team's 12 honorees was football with 11, women's cross country with seven and volleyball with five. The 12 honorees representing New Mexico women's soccer are:
