Hello Volleyball Fans!
Well a lot has surely happened since the last time we have posted in our blogs. We had a great game against Wyoming on Thursday of this past week. We were able to beat the Cowgirls on our home court, which is always a great win. But on Saturday, we were thoroughly disappointed in our loss to No. 25 Colorado State. We had battled hard, but came up short in the fifth game. Taylor Hadfield had an amazing performance, breaking a personal record with 21 kills, as well as Melissa Rohr with her outstanding digs.
Our team has learned a lot from these experiences and we keep our heads high and our work ethic higher as we head into this upcoming week.
This week is especially exciting for the Colorado girls due to the fact that Thursday night's match at Air Force is so close to all three hometowns - Littleton (Allie Suiter), Colorado Springs (me) and Pueblo (Anna Lehne). Air Force's gym is literally a mere 15 minutes from my home in Colorado.
We had a tough few days of practice preparing for this week by doing lots of conditioning and team drills. We are working on battling and having high intensity the whole time while we are playing. We are not overlooking any of our opponents and are striving for two good wins this week.
After Air Force on Thursday, we will go from the snowy weather of Colorado to the sunny skies of San Diego. It is quite the unique traveling schedule. We will be celebrating our Halloween as a team and many of us have costumes planned for Saturday the 31st after our afternoon match against San Diego State.
I am planning on going as a pretend Prom Queen (which I made sure my whole team voted for me as) and have my tiara, dress, and sash ready to go. Amy Wong, Ashley Rhoades, and Taylor Hadfield are planning on being Max and his Wild Things, from the recent movie release of Where the Wild Things are. Jade Michaelsen and Allison Buck are dressed to fight crime as The Incredibles, while Jordan Russell is going as a lovely bumblebee. We are certainly being creative this year.
We will also get the unique opportunity to support our football team in San Diego as well. We might even wear our Halloween costumes to the football game. I think we might stand out in their crowd. I am hoping for two wins against SDSU on Saturday and I am confident our Lobo teams will pull through.
Thank you for all the support, Lobo fans, and keep checking in with all our blogs. We love writing to you all!
Everyone's a Lobo, WOOF, WOOF, WOOF!!!
