ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--- This weekend the Lobo men's tennis team will travel to Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi for the HEB Tournament of Champions. The tournament will be host to seven schools including the University of New Mexico. Among the potential Lobo match-ups will be no. 45 Maryland, Purdue, Middle Tennessee State and previous opponents no. 42 DePaul and no. 45 Corpus Christi.
New Mexico will travel to Corpus Christi with high hopes of adding wins to their already 7-2 season. In the previous weekend the Lobos took down two solid teams, blanking both Northern Arizona and Abilene Christian 7-0. The weekend may have been a difficult and tiring one, but New Mexico took it in stride and showed their true talent for tennis.
The Lobos have a lot to look forward to this weekend, as they will be pitted against tough, well-ranked teams. Earlier in the week, New Mexico picked up the no. 46 spot on the national rankings, putting them one behind soon-to-be challenger Maryland.
New Mexico will begin the weekend against the Purdue Boilermakers. The Boilermakers are currently 6-3 on the season and are traveling to Corpus Christi after two wins at home last weekend.
The Lobos will face Purdue at 9 a.m. on March 4th. All other matches will also begin at 9 a.m. For more information on the tournament please visit the HEB Tournament of Champions Website
