Sept. 23, 2003
Senior Linebacker Shannon Kincaid (Albuquerque, N.M.)
Question: This is going to be your first real taste of this rivalry, how excited are you about that?
SK: You always have to be excited to play the in-state rival. They are going to be pumped up, we are going to be pumped up and it is all going to come down to a matter of who makes the most plays and get the job done.
Q: Is this a big game for you personally?
SK: It's always a big game with me being from Albuquerque. In high school it was always the northern teams versus the southern teams and it's just like that now in college.
Q: I am sure your career has been frustrating with the injuries. Being a senior now and finally getting to play, has it all been worth it to you?
SK: It has. Everything that has happened to me in my career has been stepping stones leading me to be a stronger person.
Q: What do the Aggies do offensively?
SK: They are going to come out and line up in front of you and try to run the ball right at you. We are just going to have to line up correctly and make plays.
Q: How difficult is it with the two quarterbacks preparing for them?
SK: Both are tremendous athletes. We have to make sure we keep them contained and watch their trick plays.
Q: Do feel like this is a game you have to win?
SK: I think that every time we line up it's a game we have to win, regardless of who the opponent is. If you go out on the field, it should be viewed as a game you have to win.
