New Mexico head coach Steve Alford:

"I thought tonight was really big for our guys it wasn't one of our better games and still we did a lot of good things and found a lot of positives. Some of the guys really put fourth some good minutes. We got into some early foul trouble and that affected our sub pattern and we haven't had to have in awhile. I thought they adjusted well, it's hard to play three games in three days and I thought all in all they did some good things. We obviously have some glaring things that showed tonight that we have to show them on tape tonight to prepare for our game against Hawaii."

"We had eighteen offensive rebounds but we turned it over twenty-one times we haven't done that yet this year. It's also three games in three days and you've beaten two opponents by thirty-one plus, and opponent that had been beaten by one of those teams. You don't play by looking at scores or comparing scores, you try to get better every forty minutes you're out and we did have some things that we did well. We made thirteen three's. I have not had a team in my seventeen years that shoots the three ball at the clip that we are shooting. We came in making ten a game which was top ten in the country and then we get thirteen tonight and shoot 50% from behind there again. If you can struggle offensively and still score 86 those are good things. We got driven a lot, I don't think we checked out like the we have been checking out like we've been checking out on the boards. There are things we have to work on but I'm still very pleased that we can go back to back to back nights with lop sided wins."

Loyola Marymount head coach Rodney Tention:

Comments on the game:
"I'm pleased with our effort. We are now going out with a purpose...and to go up against a team like New Mexico on the road, you got to play with a lot of confidence. You got to take care of the ball and you got to believe that you're going to win the game. You can't come out and be passive. I thought we were very aggressive at the start...I thought we came back and fought back in the second half and made it interesting. We're still learning. We're still young."

Comments on cutting the lead to nine in the second half/Lobos giving the ball to J.R. more:
"I think good teams are going to go to key guys. They needed a spark and he (J.R.) is the guy that is going to do that for them. That is a very smart execution by Coach Alford. He's a good player and it is a great experience for us. We got to be that way when things aren't going our way...(where) we can run a guy and know that there is a chance of getting points out of it somehow whether it's a field goal or field goal combination free throw. They're a good team. I like watching them. They shoot the heck out of the ball with the three and hopefully some day we'll be able to do that, but right now we just got to get experience and keep working on it and keep getting better."
