New Mexico Game Notes vs. Air Force

--Game captains for the Lobos were senior wide receiver Ty Kirk, junior deep snapper Evan Jacobsen and senior linebacker Carmen Messina.
--Air Force Mike DeWitt scored four rushing TDs, the most against the Lobos since Sam Houston State's Tim Flanders scored five rushing TDs on Sept. 24.
--It's been exactly 23 years since the Lobos have been shut out in back-to-back games. UNM suffered shutouts against UTEP (37-0) and Brigham Young (65-0) on Oct. 22 and Oct. 29, 1988, respectively.

--Though they didn't score, the Lobos' 27-yard drive to start the game was their second longest for an opening possession this season (30 yards on their first possession against Sam Houston State).
--TE Lucas Reed's four receptions and 36 receiving yards are his most this season.
--RB Crusoe Gongbay had 63 yards rushing, just one yard shy of his personal best. He had 123 all-purpose yards, which were a career high.

--Carmen Messina recorded his fifth double-digit tackle game in the first half when he recorded 10 stops. He had a season-high 15 tackles for the game to move into sixth place all-time on UNM's career tackles list. He has 23 double-digit tackle games.
--Air Force's 361 yards of total offense were the lowest UNM has allowed since the season opener against Colorado State (270). UNM's defense allowed fewer than 500 yards for the first time since the CSU game.

Special Teams
--Ben Skaer averaged more than 40 yards per punt for the fifth straight game.
