Doubles Duo Earns First Dual Match

Orlando, Fla.- The University of New Mexico women's tennis team stole the No. 1 doubles match from Central Florida today. However, it wasn't enough as the Lobos fell, 7-0 to the Knights (9-12).

Anya Villanueva and Ashley Bonner won their first doubles match of the dual season together over Jenny Frisell and Alexis Rodriguez. The Lobo duo won 8-6 at the No.1 position.

Kristin Eggleston battled today against Allison Hodges. The freshman lost the first set 6-4 but came back in the second winning 7-5. The third set was a tiebreaker set where Eggleston lost 11-9.

Villanueva and Bonner both put up a fight in their first sets, losing by one game, 7-6, in their respective singles matches. Unfortunately, neither could hang on in the second, only winning one game between the two of them.

New Mexico will take a couple of weeks off before traveling to Fort Worth, Texas to take on TCU April 1.
