COLLEGE STATION, Texas - After the Lobos limited the powerful Arkansas offense to one run in yesterday's win, the Razorback offense exploded in today's 13-3 victory over the New Mexico baseball team in the Domino's Pizza Aggie Classic at Olsen Field. UNM now stands at 1-4-1 for the season, while Arkansas improves to 9-2.
The Razorbacks took advantage of two costly Lobo errors in the early innings to build an 8-1 lead after three frames. UNM starter Darren Coltrinari only lasted two innings after allowing four hits and five walks on seven runs - although only two were earned.
Arkansas added five runs in the ninth on a two-run triple and three-run homer.
Freshman Daniel Stovall hit his first collegiate home run with a solo blast in the bottom of the second. Junior Garrick Haymore, a transfer from Eastern Arizona, also collected his first long ball as a Lobo with a two-run shot in the fifth.
Justin White threw 4.2 innings to earn the win for Arkansas, giving up five hits and three runs. Trey Holloway pitched the final 4.1 innings without allowing a run.
Petr Pacas fired seven innnings of relief in his Lobo debut. Pacas was cruising through his first six innings, surrendering just one run and three hits, until the Razorbacks scored five runs in the ninth.
New Mexico returns to action at 3 p.m. CT to face No. 20 Texas A&M.
