ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of New Mexico women's basketball team will return to the road on Wednesday night as they travel to Fort Worth, Texas, to take on the Horned Frogs of TCU. The Lobos are 12-6 on the season and 2-3 in the MWC, while the Horned Frogs are 13-6 this year and 3-2 in conference. Tip-off from Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is set for 5:30 PM (MST) and can be heard live on 610 AM The Sports Animal or viewed live on the mtn.

TONIGHT'S GAME: Tonight's game features the Lobos of the University of New Mexico travelling to Fort Worth, Texas to play the Horned Frogs of TCU in a Mountain West Conference game.

SCOUTING THE LOBOS: New Mexico is 12-6 this season and 2-3 in the MWC with victories over Florida Atlantic (74-44), No. 25 Texas (63-60), Georgia Southern (64-43), Siena (78-39), New Mexico State (81-47 and 65-45), at Arizona (76-63), Sam Houston State (77-41), UCLA (72-63), Northern Arizona (62-51), Colorado State (73-42) and Air Force (60-46) and losses to No. 12/13 Arizona State (67-49), Nebraska (66-59), No. 7/8 Oklahoma (80-58), Wyoming (54-51), Utah (49-48) and BYU (63-59). UNM is led in scoring by senior Julie Briody at 16.4 ppg and rebounding by junior Brandi Kimble at 5.7 rpg. Leading the Lobos in assists is senior Katie Montgomery at 3.2 apg.

SCOUTING THE HORNED FROGS: TCU is 13-6 on the year and 3-2 in the conference with wins over Houston (57-46), Rice (81-67), SMU (83-71), Pepperdine (74-56), Florida (71-67), Texas-Arlington (71-67), Syracuse (74-53), DePaul (74-73), North Carolina A&T (106-84), UMKC (68-45), UNLV (88-63), Colorado State (86-36) and Air Force (87-61) and losses to Maryland (82-64), George Washington (82-77), Arizona (59-56 OT), Georgia (80-58), Utah (72-61) and Wyoming (66-51). Leading the Horned Frogs in scoring is Adrianne Ross at 16.9 ppg, while Hanna Biernacka leads them in rebounding at 8.1 rpg. Leading TCU in assists is Lori Butler-Rayford at 3.1 apg.

THE COACHES: UNM is led by head coach Don Flanagan who enters his 12th season at New Mexico. Flanagan is 251-110 at UNM. The head coach of TCU is Jeff Mittie who is in his eighth season as a Horned Frog and 15th overall. Mittie has a record of 165-78 at TCU and 326-137 overall.

THE SERIES: This will be the first of two meetings between New Mexico and TCU and the eighth meeting overall with the Lobos holding a 5-2 advantage. The two teams each won on their home court last season and TCU is 2-1 in Fort Worth.

LOOKING AHEAD: Pack The Pit is this Saturday, January 27th at 7:00 PM vs. Mountain West Conference rival UNLV. As part of the 40th year of The Pit, UNM athletics will honor the most successful team in Lady Lobo basketball history, the 2003 Sweet Sixteen team. Tickets are only $4 for adults and $3 for youth (ages 2-18). Game Sponsors are 100.3 The Peak, Comcast and Pepsi. The first 5,000 fans will also receive a 40th anniversary Lobo keychain courtesy of Pepsi.

SWEET SIXTEEN TEAM: Members of the only Sweet Sixteen team in school history will be back at The Pit on Saturday night. The team won their first ever MWC title, which led to three consecutive, defeated Miami in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament and Mississippi State in the second round, before falling to Texas Tech in the Sweet Sixteen. The win over Miami was also their first win in the NCAA Tournament. The 2002-03 team was 24-9.
