Utah Valley vs. New Mexico
New Mexico Quotes

Head Coach Don Flanagan

Thoughts on the game
"I thought it was a little disappointing defensively. But I thought our second half offensively was pretty good. We didn't turn the ball over too many times, 12 which is excellent."

"We're just not getting enough out of our offense and not defending well enough with our defense. I can't remember too many teams that got 70 off of us last year or the last few years, we have to really work much harder."

"I think they're (Utah Valley) a good team and they play hard, they attack hard and they're hard to defend but at the same time I don't think we can give up that many points and have a great season. So we need to make sure that we don't get in shootouts. I know it is fun for the fans and it's probably fun for the players to get into a little bit of a shootout, but it's not fun for the coaches and I'm all about fun for the coaches."

Amy Beggin, Junior, G

Thoughts on the game
"We needed to do a better job just closing on their shooters. That one girl (Julie McMurray) had 25 points on us tonight. We were focusing on the inside game, again, and we needed to get out on their shooters better and quicker. That's something we definitely need to work on."

"We just really need to get back to work and focus on our defense. They (Utah Valley) are good, but they are probably not going to be the best players we see all year."

Amanda Adamson, Senior, F

Thoughts on the game
"We could have definitely upped our defense a little bit, but luckily our offense was going towards the end and we could up the score."

Amanda Best, Sophomore, G
