ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Reserve guard Jamal Fenton scored a career-high 16 points to lead New Mexico to a 75-46 victory over San Diego on Sunday.

Fenton made four of his seven shots from 3-point range for the Lobos (4-1). New Mexico was 8-for-17 from behind the arc.

Phillip McDonald added 11 points and A.J. Hardeman 10 for New Mexico.

Ken Rancifer led all scorers with 19 points for San Diego (1-4). The Toreros were held to their lowest point total of the season in what was also the Lobos' best defensive effort in their five games.

San Diego held a 13-9 lead with 12:18 remaining in the first half, but the Lobos closed the half on a 23-5 run for a 32-18 advantage at the break. New Mexico's lead never dropped into single digits thereafter.
