PROVO, Utah --- New Mexico freshman Alexis Ball was named second team All-Mountain West today by the league office in its 2007 women's soccer awards presentation in Provo, Utah. Ball receives the honor after scoring six goals and collecting an assists. Ball is the first freshman to be named All-MWC since 2004.

The league's eight head coaches selected the all-conference first and second teams, Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year. Ball was the only Lobo recognized by the conference after UNM went 8-5-4 overall and 2-3-2 in league play.

Ball started 16 of 17 matches for New Mexico this season and scored all six of her goals in a seven game span. She recorded four game-winners and only fired 51 shots during the year.

UNM closed out the regular-season on Nov. 3 with a 1-0 victory over Air Force. For more information about Lobo Athletics visit www.GoLobos.com.
