Fort Worth, Texas- The University of New Mexico women's tennis team lost a heartbreaker today against Colorado State, 4-3 in Fort Worth, Texas. The loss is the closest loss the Lobos have had this season other than the, 4-3 defeat at UTEP.
In singles play sophomore Manumea Durie came up big with a win over Lauren Mulhern. In the first set Durie only game up one game dominating in a 6-1 victory. The sophomore won the second set, 6-4.
Freshman Kristin Eggleston walked away with a win at the No. 2 spot over Tori Arneson. Eggleston only gave up five games between two sets winning, 6-2, 6-3. The Palm Desert, Calif. product is 2-1 at the No. 2 singles position.
Freshman Laura Richardson battled with Colorado State's Veronika Wojakowska. Wojakowska won the first set, 6-1. Richardson didn't back down as she won the second set in a close, 7-5. Richardson only gave up three games in the third, leading to a 6-3 victory.
New Mexico (1-15) will travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to take on #59 UNLV on April 9 and #72 SDSU on April 10.
