The University of New Mexico men's soccer team travels to Denver, Colo., for a match against the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer on Wednesday, April 30, at 11:00 a.m. (M.D.T.). The Lobos are looking for their second straight win over the Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, having won last year's match 2-0 on April 11. P.J. Wilson scored both goals for UNM in the game last season.
This is the final match of the spring season for UNM. The Lobos are 4-0-1 and have outscored their opponents 10-2 in five exhibition contests. Rising senior Chris Wright, the 2007 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Year, leads the team with three goals. Wilson has added a pair of scores while Justin Davis and Jack Smithson have two assists each.
New Mexico is coming off their fourth consecutive MPSF title after posting a 12-5-2 mark in 2007. The Lobos open the 2008 campaign on Aug. 29 at San Diego with the first home match on Sept. 5 against Michigan State.
