TOLEDO, OHIO - The University of New Mexico men's golf team is currently tied for fifth place at 38 over par with a two round total of 606 (296, 310) at the 15-team Inverness Intercollegiate golf tournament. The Lobos are twelve strokes off the lead, held by UCLA (294-300=594), after the opening 36-holes of play at the par 71, 7255 yard, Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.

Individually for New Mexico, Jay Reynolds led the way at six over par (72-76=148) to finish the day tied for sixth. Madalitso Muthiya is also in the top 15 tied for 13th at eight over par (74-76=150). Other scores for the Lobos: Jay Choi is tied for 33rd at +12 (79-75=154), Tucker champion Ian Medlock is tied for 43rd at +15 (74-83=157) and Charlie Beljan is tied for 58th at +17 (76-83=159)

The overall individual lead is held by Ben Fox at +2 (72-72=144), with John Merrick of UCLA and Justin Smith of Minnesota just one stroke back.

The Inverness Intercollegiate will conclude tomorrow with a shotgun start beginning at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
