Welcome to the 2009 UNM Tennis Camp!

What: UNM Tennis Camp. Thank you for your interest in the UNM tennis camp. This will be a high intensity camp for the beginning tennis player as well as the serious competitive tournament player between the ages of 10-18. All campers will get a taste of what it is like to be a college tennis player as they will practice like a Lobo, use their facility, and compete in college style drills and point play!

Our dedicated staff will focus on all aspects of the game including, high intensity drills, mind challenging live-ball drills and games, game plan and strategy sessions, fitness, and a special focus on singles and doubles match play. As an added bonus each camper will have a video analysis and evaluation with our staff as part of their camp experience.

Each day, camp will run from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with the exception of Friday when the camp ends after closing ceremonies starting at approximately 11:30 a.m. Campers will be free to leave as soon as the closing ceremony ends.

Week 1: June 1-5; Mon-Thurs 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Friday 9:00-12:00 p.m.
Week 2: June 8-12; Mon-Thurs 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Friday 9:00-12:00 p.m.
Week 3: June 15-19; Mon-Thurs 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Friday 9:00-12:00 p.m.
Week 4: June 22-26; Mon-Thurs 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Friday 9:00-12:00 p.m.


Cost: $425/Camper per session.

Each camper will get 23 hours of instruction from current and former Lobo tennis players, a video analysis and evaluation, lunch, and a whole lot of FUN! No prorations please. There will be a $100 cancellation fee for any cancellation. Any questions please contact Bart Scott at bas@unm.edu

Where: Bart Scott's UNM Tennis Camp will be held in the Randy Briggs Indoor Tennis Bubble at the UNM Lobo Tennis Club. This ensures come rain, come shine, the camp must go on. There will be no rain delays, wind issues, or any other reason why each camper will not get a great workout each and every day.

Lobo Tennis Club
The Lobo Tennis Club features 13 courts, with seven lighted outdoor courts for night play and two indoor tennis domes. Randy Briggs and First State Bank features six courts for indoor play. There is a connecting clubhouse to the facility that houses coaches offices, locker rooms and a player's lounge. The tennis oasis is made complete by a surrounding picnic area. The Lobo Tennis Club has been the site of numerous events, including the 2000 Mountain West Conference Championship, NCAA First & Second Rounds and the NCAA Team and Individual Finals.

The Randy Briggs Indoor Tennis Dome covers three courts. It is 40 feet tall, 196 feet long and 128 feet wide, the widest indoor tennis bubble in the world. There is a lobby area and the bleachers that seat close to 1000 fans.

The structure is computer controlled, including heating and air that is pumped into it. It features hanging lights for unobstructured views and playing area, and a connecting tunnel to the existing bubble, the First State Bank Tennis Dome, which stands 40 feet tall and 180 feet long. The facility seats 750 spectators.

Directions: The Lobo Tennis Club is located south of University Stadium. Exit off I-25 at Avenida Cesar Chavez and head east. Turn right (south) on University Boulevard. The Pit and the UNM Ticket Office will be on the right with University Stadium on the left. Turn left into the last entrance to the University Stadium parking lot and the Lobo Tennis club will be on the right.


Staff: Bart Scott's UNM Tennis Camp will be Directed by Bart Scott and staffed by current and former Lobo tennis players.

Lunch: All campers will have a 1-hour on site supervised lunch break where the courts will be open for individual instruction with our staff or "open" play after they finish lunch. All campers will have snacks and lunch provided to them. If there are special dietary needs please contact camp director Bart Scott for details. Water and Gatorade will be on site all hours of the camp. Campers are encouraged to bring their own water bottles.

Early Bird and Family Discounts: For all you early birds, if you sign up before April 1st you will also get a $100 discount. Also families will receive a $75 discount for the first child and $50 off each additional child.
