ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. --- The New Mexico women's basketball team returned to the Associated Press national poll today and enters the week ranked 25th. The Lobos are 13-2 overall and 2-0 in the Mountain West Conference. New Mexico enters the national polls for the second time this season and will face BYU in Provo Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Lobos are the only MWC school in the national polls. San Diego State and TCU are currently receiving votes.
New Mexico first cracked the national polls this season on Dec. 29 when it was ranked 25th. It was the first time since January of the 2006-07 season that the Lobos were ranked.
The Lobos are off to their best start since the 2004-05 season. UNM was 14-2 to start the 04-05 season and finished 26-5 overall.
