The University of New Mexico men's golf team moved into sixth place at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational's second round today. The Lobos shot an 11-under 277 to move to 8-under for the tournament (291-277=568). Oregon still leads the event at 20-under (277-279=556). Senior Charlie Beljan shot a 67 today to remain in second place in the individual race at 11-under par.

Beljan posted seven bogeys in his round today to finish two shots off the pace set by Oregon's Derek Sipe who is 13-under after two rounds. Sophomore Steve Saunders birdied four of his last five holes to post a 67 in his second round. Saunders is currently tied for fifth at 6-under for the tournament.

Junior Robb Bierbaum posted a 71 while sophomore Kyle Nielsen shot even par to round out the Lobo scoring on the day. Sophomore Parker Pemberton also played for UNM, shooting 79 at the par-72 Karsten course in Tempe, Ariz.

The Lobos conclude play at the 2007 ASU Thunderbird Classic tomorrow with the final round shotgun start at 7:00 a.m. Live scores will be available on GoLobos.com.
