ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The University of New Mexico men's tennis team, 10-6, finishes out its non-conference schedule with three matches this weekend. On Thursday, Old Dominion squares off with the No. 68 Lobos at 2 p.m. Friday features a match between UNM and South Alabama also at 2 p.m. On Saturday, the Lobos close out with Texas A&M- Corpus Christi at 11 a.m. All events will be at The Lobo Tennis Club and admission is free.
The Lobos fell from No. 55 to No. 68 with a 10-6 overall record.
The Monarchs of Old Dominion come in at 15-11 after a loss to their third straight ranked opponent, No. 25 Texas Tech, on Friday.
South Alabama stride into a match with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday, with a 6-6 record. They are currently working on a three-match win streak. The Lobos broke a 3-3 tie with a 4-1 win over South Alabama at the HEB
Invitational on Feb. 29 to go ahead 4-3. The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders battle with South Alabama on Thursday and Old Dominion on Friday before meeting up with the Lobos. Texas A&M-CC beat UT Arlington on March 11 to improve to 5-5.
New Mexico met Old Dominion for the first time in during the HEB Invitational with the Lobos coming out victorious, 4-0, on March 1. The Lobos did not battle against the HEB Invitational host, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi so the 1-0 UNM lead is on the line this weekend.
New Mexico begins conference play on April 4 when Utah comes to town. Air Force and San Diego State come in on April 5 and 6 respectively. Then the Lobos finish conference on the road.
