ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico women’s basketball program continues to work to make their community a better place. Their most recent community service program involves working with the “Teens for Jeans” campaign. The program serves homeless teens in the community by giving out jeans.
Coach Sanchez and company are partnering with students from nearby Los Lunas Middle School with the goal of collecting 10,000 pairs of jeans throughout the state of New Mexico for the state’s homeless teen population. The team will be collecting jeans at their game versus San Diego State on Saturday, January 26. Donated jeans must be new or gently used, and the Los Lunas students will have bins at The Pit for donated jeans.
The “Teens for Jeans” campaign works in cooperation with the Aeropostale Clothing Company. Aeropostale will receive all donated jeans and distribute them through their stores. The campaign’s nation-wide goal is to collect one million pairs of jeans.
Please join the Lobos in helping to make our community a better place. Bring new or gently-used jeans to the San Diego State game and help clothe New Mexico’s homeless teen population.
