Midfielders Emerson and Neu Named To All-MWC Women's Soccer Team

PROVO, Utah - Two University of New Mexico midfielders were named second team all-Mountain West Conference the league announced last night at its pre-tournament awards banquet. Sophomore Brittany Emerson and true freshman Anna Neu were honored by the conference for the first time in their career. Emerson, Neu and the rest of the Lobos take on San Diego State today at 4:30 p.m. on BYU's South Field in the first round of the MWC Women's Soccer Tournament.

A native of Capistrano Beach, Calif., Emerson started all 16 regular season games for New Mexico and had a goal and two assists (4 points), as well as providing a strong defensive presence. Neu, meanwhile, had two goals, including one game-winner, and a team-high 25 shots. The Nehawka, Neb. native appeared in all 16 games during the regular season, starting 15 for the Lobos.
