FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Ninth-ranked Colorado State defeated the New Mexico volleyball team in three games, 15-30, 25-30, 21-30, Saturday night at Moby Arena. The Lobos now stand at 6-6 (0-2 Mountain West) for the season, while the Rams improve to 10-1 (2-0 MWC).
The Rams limited the Lobos to a .082 attack percentage for the match. Junior Chelsea Sondrup led UNM with eight kills and five blocks, freshman Samie Weber had six kills and two blocks and sophomore Jennifer Heasty recorded four blocks. Adah Burke led the defense with nine digs and Monica Meihack dished out 18 assists.
Three Rams tallied double-digits in kills as they hit .305 as a team for the match. Bri Frech recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs and Dre Downs and Becky Sarauer each put down 10 kills.
The Lobo volleyball team returns to action Thursday, Sept. 30 to take on BYU at the Johnson Center, beginning at 7 p.m.
